Full Schedule Leads To College Football Betting Odds On Saturday

The college football season began on Thursday with four top teams in action. The Ohio State Buckeyes, Miami Hurricanes, and USC Trojans all avoided upsets in their first games of the year. The Pittsburgh Panthers were not as lucky, falling to Utah Thursday evening.

On Saturday, many of the other college football programs will take the field for the first time this season. That also means that gamblers will have the opportunity to place their bets on meaningful football games for the first time since the Super Bowl back in February.

The number four team in the country, the Florida Gators, will be hosting Miami, Ohio in a noon game at the Swamp. The Gators are favored by 36.5 points in their opener. The top teams all tend to schedule easy first games to get the kinks out before facing tougher competition.

In Louisville, however, the Cardinals and the Kentucky Wildcats will come out of the gates in a rivalry game. There will be no time for these teams to be off their game, or they risk losing bragging rights for an entire year to their rivals. Kentucky is favored by three in the match up.

Another game that will feature rivals is being played in Colorado, where Colorado and Colorado State are set to lock horns. Colorado is favored by 11.5, and the total for the game is 46.5, suggesting a fairly high scoring affair.

The defending national champions will open defense of their title at home against San Jose State. The Alabama Crimson Tide have already received bad news this week when current Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram had surgery. Ingram will miss the opener, but Alabama is still favored by 37.5.

Other notable games include Washington against BYU, Washington State and Oklahoma State, and LSU versus North Carolina. The Tar Heels will be without fifteen starters, who are being held out of the gaming pending an NCAA investigation. Without the starters, analysts are giving North Carolina little chance to pull the upset.
